Supervised Visitation

Based on protection and safety issues, a judge will decide that in order for a child to have contact with a parent, a neutral third person must be present during any visitation. The goal of supervised visitation is to protect the best interests of children whose parents have a custody or visitation matter within the family courts.

Scope of Practice

Grand Rapids Counseling Services can offer “therapeutic supervision” as defined by a provider who also is a state licensed mental health worker.  With training and experience in facilitating domestic violence groups and working with children in play therapy GRCS is the most appropriate and well-suited provider for supervised visitation.
