Sean earned a Masters of Educational Psychology from Baylor University in 2005. That same year he became licensed to practice psychology. Sean has professional experience practicing in the areas of individual, marriage & family, career and substance abuse counseling.  In addition to holding a professional counselor licensure he is a certified advanced addiction counselor (CAAC).  He has professional affiliations with organizations such as Proaction Behavioral Health Alliance, Family Outreach Center and several of Grand Rapids’ district courts.

He started Grand Rapids Counseling Services in 2006 with a vision of helping people improve their quality of life. In a fast paced world it is rare to take a “timeout” to process our thoughts, feelings and behaviors that may be unhealthy and keeping us from living a full and satisfying life.  Sean’s philosophy is that the majority of clients are dealing with “phase of life” issues that don’t necessarily require a diagnosis and in turn don’t require being clinically labeled for mere purpose of insurance reimbursement.   All Sean’s clients pay out-of-pocket ensuring that he can focus on what is most beneficial for his clients and also provide the utmost confidentiality.

Sean’s professional counseling license number is: 6401009578 and can be viewed and verified using the following link: http://www.dleg.state.mi.us/free/default.asp

Sean’s CAAC certification number is C-04173 and can be viewed and verified at: http://www.mcbap.com/search.php

Thank you for visiting my staff bio page.  I hope this provides you with a little more information on who I am and why people believe I can help.  It is my belief that when two or more people are in unity there is nothing that cannot be accomplished.  I look forward to hearing from you.

Sean
