First Offenders/Minors In Possession Group
The goal of this class is to divert juvenile clients away from further engagement into the criminal justice system. The intervention model used in this class has been proven to be affective and pragmatic. This class has a focus on substance abuse with an objective to build resiliency and facilitate abstinence. This class is a combination of didactic, skills, & process.
Offered – Once per month (minimum 4 participants)
Length – 4 hours

Key Concepts & Objectives
Reduce the likelihood of continued alcohol/substance use resulting in legal, social and emotional problems
Clients will understand the physiological process of alcohol & drugs on the body
Clients will learn to correlate decisions with associated outcomes & learn to analyze various options
Development and clarification of goals & how to accomplish them
Information on local resources for continued treatment (mental health & substance abuse)
